The defeated candidate to become SLFA president, Dr Foday Bangura alias Bangso, has rejected Nahim Kadi’s offer for him to appoint two people each to the 15 FA committees.
Following his victory, Mr Kadi instructed the FA Secretary General, Alimu Bah to write to Dr Bangura informing him about his decision.
Executive members of the FA contacted by Awoko Sportsdenied any knowledge of any such letter from the secretary-general.
Dr Bangura however is reported to have discussed the content of the letter with some of his supporters and later came to the realization that the SLFA Constitution did not allow Dr Bangura to make any such nominations; which is the sole prerogative of the SLFA executive.
According to one supporter of Dr Bangura, they did not want to violate the SLFA constitution and set a bad precedent. He said that even if Dr Bangura went ahead with his nominations, it would be left with the executive to approve them anyway.
