Two regular foreign-based players, Samuel Ballay and Gibrilla Woobay of Leone Stars would miss the crucial match against Super Eagles this weekend due to injury.
The news about the injury of the two players came as a shock to the Head Coach, Ahmed Kanu as the tickets for the two players had been sent to their various clubs.
Coach Kanu wasted no time in replacing the two players with two home-based. The two injured players were also absent in the last match against Equatorial Guinea at the National Stadium.
Three of the invited foreign-based players are expected in Nigeria; and these are Sheriff Sumah, Albert Cole, and Umaru Bangura all from Norway.
The other batch of players expected to be in Nigeria are Paul Kpaka, Ibrahim Kargbo, Mustapha Bangura, Ahmed Deen, Alhassan Bangura, and Warren Kanu.while Kei Kamara and Kewullay Conteh would arrive on Thursday. Captain Mohamed Kallon is also expected to depart Freetown with the home-based players and officials. The new player included in the National Team is Alhassan Bangura who manifested willingness to play for his country.
