The late Baimba Kamara (Opouku) who passed away on Friday after a short illness will be buried today at the Ascension Town cemetery after service at the faith Assembly Church at Bass Street in Brookfield in Freetown.
The late man was an active sport man and ex-offcio member of the Western Area Football Association (WAFA) who also served as Secretary General of the Brookfield United Football club. For several years he was one of the brains behind the promotion of the Brookfield United team to division one status.
The death of Baimba Kamara is a big blow to the football family especially the Brookfield Community where he has contributed to the development of the Brookfield Community and his humanitarian endeavors.
He was actively involved in the past Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) congress where he was supporting the Dream team. He played a key role in the campaign of the Dream team up to the last day of the election.
The Brookfield United Veterans FC in their tribute to the late Baimba Kamara where he was a member until his death said he was born on April 2nd 1968 and was 40 years old.
He joined the Brookfield Veterans FC in 2005 and rose to the position of Public Relation Officer (PRO 2). For his hard work he became the Public Relations Officer (PRO 1) the tribute went further that he was one time Secretary General of Brookfield United. A diligent sport promoter he assisted young talents in football and won the community gala organized by Brewery. As a scout this led him to become a member of WAFA as an Ex-Officio and contributed in promoting the community. A great brother may his soul rest in peace
