The star prize winner for Awoko’s raffle, which was held last December, over the weekend picked up her return air ticket to London from bmi airlines’ manager.
The presentation was done at the Waterloo Street bmi’s office in Freetown.
Martha Palmer was all smiles as bmi’s general manager, Joe Oshiapen, handed the ticket to her.
“I am a student and I am preparing for exams, so I will not be able to travel just now”, said Janet.
Joe Oshiapen said they would continue to keep her place until she could travel and that the ticket would be valid for more than a year.
“The raffle draw was Awoko’s cooperate responsibility to its numerous readers, said the paper’s deputy editor Samuel John.
Two return air tickets to Ghana and The Gambia were also won in the draw whilst many people every week for ten week which was the duration of the raffle went away with valuables like radios, fans, heaters, cameras and other fabulous prizes.
Management has announced that it will continue to give back to the public in various ways in the coming months.
