The wife of the Regional Chairman of the Peoples Movement for Democratic Change (PMDC) Madam Margaret Suwu has stated that her husband Alhaji Mohamed
Benson Suwu of Nyandeyama section in Kenema is not corrupt and will not be a party to any problem that has been happening in Kenema.
Madam Suwu was addressing a cross section of the Kenema community at the Kenema police division during the local policing partnership board meeting held over the weekend.
Reacting to allegations that her husband has a hand in the problems between supporters of both the APC and PMDC, Madam Suwu explained that Alhaji Suwu is not known for any violence, and that is why he has disassociated himself from anyone who claims to be a supporter of APC and PMDC who have been involved in any violence act.
She said Alhaji Suwu openly called on his supporters to remain calm and friendly to every body as the country belongs to all of us.
She explained that before the arrival of Alhaji Suwu in Kenema most people especially market women and youths were engaged in using abusive languages against each other while others were engaged in throwing stones on peoples houses at night.
Madam Suwu condemned the act and appealed to all to deviate from all such violent acts.
She encouraged every one to come together as brothers and sisters of the same country for the development of their country, while also thanking the police for their relentless effort in maintaining peace in the community.
Without peace she said there will be no development.
Earlier in his opening remarks the chairman of the Local Policing Partnership Board who is also the Principal of the Eastern Polytechnic Dr. Sandi Bockarie called on all to always put the country first and project it’s good image at all times.
He also thanked everyone, especially the forces and the international community for their contribution in diverse ways for making sure that Sierra Leone goes through a peaceful election.
Dr. Bockarie admonished all to remain peaceful at all times.
