At Fourah Bay Road 1 dead, 2 electrocuted

The evil of building dwelling houses closer to electrical installations showed its ugly face past Saturday as three people doing communal job at 137 Fourah Bay Road in Freetown were electrocuted leaving one of them dead and the two hospitalized in critical condition According to eye witness, the three people were trying to transfer some iron rods as they were doing some renovation on the top floor of the said building, when some of the rods which the deceased was holding touched the electric cables hanging about three to four feet from the house. The witness disclosed that the two boys in critical condition rushed to rescue their colleague when they too came into contact with the rods that led to the burning of their skin The names of the victims were not disclosed to the reporter as everyone around was crying whilst traffic police at the scene stopped a truck for the victims to be taken to hospital for medical attention. The deceased is said to be a man in his late 50s. Police officers at the scene said they were busy controlling traffic for a truck that was clearing garbage deposited at the junction of Kennedy Street when they heard people crying for help, and as they arrived on the scene, they met the victims lying on the ground speechless as the one had already died.
