The Sierra Leone Cricket Association (SLCA) National Men’s League Kicks-off on Saturday January 12th 2013 with defending champions Police Cricket club losing to Mid-West Cricket Club in the open match by 55 runs.
The winning for the Asians was a boost from 3 new signing Lansana Lamin, Olu Coker and Bami Williams from Old Edwardians.
The defeat was a big shock not only to the police fans but to the entire cricket fans as Police have 70% of players both in the senior and the U-19 male team.
After the match the Mid-West players assured their fans that they are sure of defeating Police in the return match as winning that match will see them winning the trophy.
With Police as the only target in the league, in the second match RSLAF defeated the youthful Wanders team by 3 Wickets.
On Sunday Asians cricket Club defeated Old Edwardians Cricket Club by 38 runs while in the second match Prince of Wales defeated Murray Town Cricket club by 3 wickets.
The league will continue this weekend with four matches’ lined up.
