Things do not seem good for defending champions Ports Authority who have lost two matches in a row in the ongoing Premier League. On Wednesday, January 25th 2012, they suffered a shocking defeat at the hands of Central Parade as they went down by two goals to nil.
Ports Authority Assistant Coach, Hassan Milan Sesay said that they lost the match last Wednesday because they were tactically undisciplined at the defense.
He however said that that head of their pending match with Old Edwardians FC on Wednesday, 1st February 2012,, they would need to go back to the drawing board to lay bare all their problems with the aim of finding solutions to them on the pitch.
Coach Hassan expressed hope of addressing these problems and securing all three points against their next opponent.
He appealed to supporters to stay in support of the team and to have hope of its success in the next match so as to keep alive the hope of clinching the championship.
The Head Coach of Central Parade, Bobson Kamara said defeating Ports Authority was not surprising to him as they were well prepared ahead of the match and the boys were able to display what they learnt during their training sessions.
Coach Bobson noted that when they lost to Wusum Stars in their first match, he encouraged the boys to be resilient and be committed to the game and hope of emerging from their predicament. He urged them to play as a team at all times.
The league will continue today Friday, January 27th 2012 with FC Kallon hosting Freetown City FC at the National Stadium. This will be FC Kallon’s second match after defeating defending champions Ports Authority by three goals to one.
Head Coach of FC Kallon Charlie Wright said they are going to the match well focused and prepared to secure all three points against the Freetown City FC.
On Saturday January, 28th 2012 East End Lions who drew their first match against arch rival Mighty Blackpool, will host Diamond Stars of Kono at the National Stadium in Freetown in an exciting match as East End Lions is going to the match with an edge over their opponent.
On the other Diamond Stars are determined to revenge against East End Lions for the defeats they have suffered at the hands of East End Lions over the past years.
On the very day, Mighty Blackpool will play away to Wusum Stars in Makeni in another thrilling encounter as both teams are determined to secure a win.
On Sunday January, 29th 2012 FC Johansen will host Kamboi Eagles of Kenema who are presently leading the table with 7 points from three matches played, while FC Johansen are trailing them by two points.
