Hundreds of SLPP supporters have hailed Veep Solomon Berewa at the Ahmad Tejan Kabbah hall, at the Eastern Polytechnic campus, in Kenema city. During the meeting, about 56 PMDC and APC supporters handed over their membership IDs to the Veep who is flagging the SLPP at the August 11 polls.
Mr Berewa asked party faithful to forgive and welcome them back into their fold those who had just handed over their membership IDs of opposition parties, as they were misled in the past but had now realised their mistakes.
Displaying the cards to supporters, the Veep thanked God that the returnees had realised what he told them before.
The Veep disclosed that he had vowed never to sit on the same table with the APC and PMDC for any debate because of their languages in campaign speeches, which aimed at destroying the country.
“I will hate any body who want to disturb the peace which I have been a major player in achieving,” he said.
He told of how he had seen poverty in the faces of people in every part of the country and his determination to put smiles on those faces when voted to State Lodge.
During the Veep’s short speech the PMDC leader, Charles Margai, came under the hammer. Mr Berewa explained how Charles’ father did the same thing his son was now doing to the SLPP.
He encouraged his supporters to go out in their thousands and vote in the SLPP on August 11.
