In their bid to maintain their grip and win the local council election, the Sierra Leone Peoples Party has unanimously elected a new interim Chairman for the Moyamba district at a well attended ceremony over the weekend by stalwarts in the District.
The former Civil Defense Force scribe who also doubles as former Member of Parliament Jonathan Dambo was unanimously elected as the interim Chairman of the SLPP replacing the erstwhile chairman of the party in the district who is now the Resident Minister South.
It would be recalled that Honorable Musa Tarawally shifted his loyalty to the APC Party after he was rejected by his own Moyamba people during the primary election for constituency 081.
In an exclusive interview with this press the Interim Chairman of the SLPP in Moyamba Jonathan Dambo said his first task is to bring the executives together and promote the ideals of the party.
He affirmed that his intention is to facilitate reconciliation at all levels, he also called on all those party members who defected to the PMDC to return back to the SLPP where they truly belong.
He noted that Moyamba is an SLPP District, the Interim Chairman said he needs the total cooperation of all and sundry to win the forth coming local council election in the district and the country as a whole.
Concluding Hon. Jonathan Dambo promised to work assiduously with other party members to breach the gap between the executive of the party and those stake holders whom they allegedly blame for the fall of the SLPP Party
