Temporary relocation of Maxwell Khobe Park has commenced with over one hundred people mostly petty traders now scrambling for space at different locations in Bo as the relocation of Maxwell Khobe has taken full gear.
Petty traders around the Maxwell Khobe Park are now in a difficult situation to erect new structures around the Agriculture Ministry One Word link Secretariat and a parcel of land owned by Plan Parenthood of Sierra Leone.
Deputy Mayor of the Bo Town Council Joe Pine in an interview with our Southern Correspondent said relevant agreement with stakeholders has been secured for a relocation of the park and plans are underway for the building project.
Park Officials including motor drivers have expressed the hope that the former inhabitants of the park will be peacefully relocated to a conducive site that is suitable for both drivers and passengers to access without any hindrance.
In line with the ongoing relocation the Shell-mingo Koribondo Park will be relocated to Musa Street around the Bo Kenema Highway temporarily with the consent of drivers, park attendants and passengers.
Petty traders on the other hand are with the strong anticipation of having a multi-purpose market with adequate facilities like water, electricity and warehouses after the construction could have been completed.
