FC Kallon the runner-up in last year’s Africell Premier League has eliminated their opponent from Cameroon Union de Douala by a 2-1 aggregate after winning the second leg by two goals to nil at the National Stadium in Freetown.
After losing the first leg in Douala in Cameroon by a goal to nil (1-0) they will now move to the next stage of the competition.
During the match the founder and captain of the team Mohamed Kallon put the team in the lead in the 41st minutes of play when he converted a super free kick to a goal that sent the stadium into cheerful mood.
They extended their lead in the early minute of the second half when Alhaji Kamara made it two nil. After the goal their opponents Union de Douala went into the offensive looking for a goal that will see them through but the watertight defence of FC Kallon prevented their opponent from scoring.
While in Conakry in the CAF Champions leg the defending champions Ports Authority has bowed out of the competition when they lost to their Guinean opponent Horoya Atletico by a goal to nil(1-0) in the second leg after a goalless draw in the first leg at the National Stadium two weeks ago the team was expected back in Freetown yesterday.
