The Cricket League which started last Sunday would continue this week with two matches to be played at the Kingtom Oval.
Some of the Cricketers who spoke to Awoko Sports disclosed that they have decided to participate in this year’s competition to develop the game, as there were signs that the game would die out. This move, they said, would encourage younger players to come on board.
The Veteran Cricket Team would comprise of the following; Solomon Fatoma, Joseph Katta, Abdul Sesay, Anior Scott, Alex Musa, Cyril Panda, and Bradman Benka –Coker, W.Knox –Harding, Tony Morrison, Bai-Kabia, Paul Conton, Joseph Kamanda, George Furry and host of others.
In a bid to make the Veteran Cricket Team more effective, they have selected an eleven (11) man executive, to be in charge of the club before the setting up of a new executive.
The executive comprises of the following; George Labour President; Paul Conton First Vice President; Tony Morrison Second Vice President; Francis Matturi Secretary General; W.Knox-Harding Assistant Secretary-General; P Hamilton Treasurer and Abdul Sesay Public Relation Officer(PRO); Hon M Betts –Priddy Team Manager; Solomon Fatoma, Captain and Tolla Thompson Legal Adviser.
In the other match Mid-West would face the defending champions, the Sierra Leone Police.
