A Cricket Elective Congress supposed to have been held last Friday stands postponed until further notice because some stakeholders have condemned the draft constitution sent to them for review.
In a letter challenging the draft constitution the aggrieved stakeholders stated that they have observed from the draft constitution that the present executive intends to impose on the association a constitution which is calling for a Board of Directors to govern the affairs of the association.
“This is contrary to the present state of the game which is only played within the Western Area and has not yet been properly introduced to the other regions of Sierra Leone” the letter stated, adding that the present state of the game does not need a board to govern its affairs as the association can handle and develop what is currently available.
“Having a two tier system in such a small playing cricketing nation can lead to confusion and confrontation within members,” the letter furthered, adding that they will not allow the current executive to continue perpetuating itself in office.
