As the Central One Football Association (COFA) U-14 league ends last Sunday at the parade grounds, Same Face defeated FC Bureh on penalty shoot out after a goalless draw at full time.
The match was very thrilling and exciting, as Same Face created some chances in the first half of play.
After the competition the best player award went to Alie Kamara of FC Bureh; whilst the highest goal scorer award was given to Alhaji Feika of Kissy U-14 with 7 goals to his credit.
The best defender was Mohamed Kamara of Kissy U-14; the best Mid-Fielder was Leslie Kamara of Same Face FC and the best goal keeper award went to Abubakarr T Bangura of FC Bureh.
The best behaved clubs in this year’s competition are FC Larry, Real Mark FC and Dove United.
During the competition 53 matches were played; and 97 goals were scored during the regulation time, with 30 goals in the post game penalties.
A total of 120 goals were scored in the preliminary to the last semi-final stage, with 138 cautionable bookings made and 5 expulsion cards issued.
During the competition the most vicious match was between FC Bureh and Pizzo FC when 8 cautionable bookings were made, with 6 to FC Bureh and 2 to Pizzo FC.
The most attacking club is Kissy U-14 they scored 12 goals and the poorest attacking club is Dove United with only 2 goals.
He expressed gratitude to Mercury International, National Olympic Committee (NOC), City Council and host of others for their support to the association so far.
He mentioned that those who have won awards would be given scholarship to cover school fees; whilst those who are not going to school would be sent to school.
