As part of the ongoing management restructuring process; more heads will be rolled at the National Power Authority (NPA), says the minister of energy and power Haja Afsatu Kabba.
The minister said, “the action is the first phase of the restructuring of management in which no stone will be left unturned”.
Haja Afsatu Kabba noted that the restructuring must take place now to gain efficiency in the system, stating that “I will fear no one but only God. If you fail in performing your role then you have deprived the people who elected you and therefore, the government is working on plans for workers to work for a salary.”
The minister affirmed that never in the history of Africa had a president focus on electricity but that President Ernest Koroma had made electricity his top most priority.
“Without sustainable electricity”, the minister said, “there will be little or no development in a country”.
Haja Afsatu Kabba maintained that the president made no mistake in choosing her as minister of that ministry because “I have the energy, vitality, and vigor for action”.
She urged the other ministers to speak with one voice so that they could actualize President Koroma’s promise to the nation.
The minister also asked the public to pay their bills and be watchdogs to flush out people who steal NPA cables and fuel as well as those dealing in scrap metals.
