In the second day of the 20 overs cricket match at the Kingtom Oval Asian Cricket Club came on very strong to win their first match defeating their opponents Murray Town by 51 runs.
During the match it was the Asian Cricket Club that first started to bat and they made 200 runs for 4 wickets in 20.0 overs with Lansana Lamin making the highest score of 80 runs, Rajesh made 29 runs, Julius Quee made 23 runs not out, while Hamish made 16 runs and Atiq made 11 runs.
Bowling for Murray Town Cricket Club Sulaiman Tarawalie took 2 wickets for 29 runs and Alimamy Turay took 1 wicket for 36 runs.
When Murray Town Cricket club took the crease they were unable to make the runs that their opponent made, so they replied with 149 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs with Richard Tommy making the highest runs for his side of 64 runs. Abdul Sesay made 19 runs while Abubakarr Kargbo made 10 runs.
Bowling for Asian CC Lansana Lamin took 3 wickets for 15 runs, Rajesh 2 wickets for 28 runs and Sujiz 1 wicket for 35 runs.
In the other match Mid-West defeated Old Edwardians by 8 wickets with Old Edwardians first to take the crease and they made 151 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs with Emmanuel Kamara making the highest runs of 74 not out. Bami Williams made 16 runs, T. Jenkins made 11 runs not out and Boys Kamara made 10 runs.
Bowling for Mid-West Solomon Williams took 1 wicket for 9 runs, Charlie Coker took 2 wickets for 20 runs, Roland James took 2 wickets for 14 runs.
When Mid-West took the crease they were able to reply with 152 runs for 2 wickets in 16 overs with Balowa Mansaray making the highest score of 53 runs for their side to be followed by Emmanuel Pessima with 46 runs. Alfred Charley made 17 runs while Francis Samura made 9 runs not out.
In this competition there were some players on loan to different cricket clubs in the country Micheal Kargbo went on loan from Olympic cricket club to Murray Town Cricket club, Solomon Fatoma and Abdul Sesay from Veteran Cricket club to Murray Town cricket club on loan. While Abubakarr Kamara from Mid-West to RSLAF, Suliaman Tarawallie from RSLAF to Murray Town and Oseh from Murray Town to Mid-West. The competition continues on Sunday.
