Less than three days after an Indian shop on Dillet street was robbed at 9pm another Indian shop, Ishwari and Sons on No1 Sani Abacha Street was on Friday attacked and robbed at 9:30pm.
Ishwari and Sons trades largely in provisions and is the only shop on Abacha street that opens till 9.45 to10pm.
The Manager of Ishwari and Sons Tikam Sawlami informed Awoko that at 9:45 whilst they were rounding up their days sales, six men attacked them in the shop. Three of them were carrying rifles with one brandishing a cutlass. He said they were placed under gun point and the one with the cutlass rushed at the Indian sales man standing near the days’ sales, seriously stabbed him and carted away the money.
Tikam explained that the day’s sales taken away runs in to millions of Leones and that Bhraj, the Indian who was stabbed was rushed to the Choithram hospital for medical attention.
He expressed surprise that an armed robbery could take place at such an early hour when several people were on the street and nobody made an attempt to raise alarm.
A report has been made at the Eastern Police Station.
