Armed Robbers stormed Makama Amputee Camp in Makeni

Armed robbers with assault rifles reportedly attacked the Makama Amputee camp on the outskirts of Makeni on Friday, 4th September 2009.
According to the Chairman of the camp, Ibrahim Sheriff, the robbers stormed the camp with assault riffles in an unregistered vehicle. They entered most of the houses threatening to kill anyone who raises alarm.
Chairman Sheriff says, the robbers carted away bags of rice, five (5) containers of palm oil, mobile phones, and belongings amounting to millions of Leones.He says, the amount of cash money they took from personal pockets, is still not known.The matter has been reported to the Makeni Police station but details of the investigation are still sketchy.
