The All People’s Congress and the People’s Movement for Democratic Change on Monday held a “Victory Rally” through the main streets of Bo. The Rally which started from Kebbie Town, saw jubilant supporters dancing through the Bo-Freetown Highway, where most of the supporters had gathered before 10am.
Dressed in their party colours, the Victory Rally went on peacefully from Kebbie Town through New London and unto Tikonko road. From Tikonko Road, the Mammoth dancing supporters started to split into groups, singing praises on HE President Ernest Bai Koroma. Provocative songs were heard from the various groups of supporters scattered through out the town. A group of supporters at the Bo Clock Tower shouted abuse at one Mrs Kaddiatu Barrie. When Awoko asked the supporters why, they alleged: ”She told us to abuse her should any party win other than the SLPP”. When the main rally reached the middle of town, shouts of abuse went out against the Madingo’s
“All dem madingo, we wan si dem, all dem madingo, dem k*** oooh. All dem madingo, dem b***** oooh,” shouted the supporters along the Mahei Boima Road. Meanwhile the Madingo’s held unto their peace.
Mohamed Sorrie, owner of 42 Mahei Boima road Kola Store told Awoko: “Did you hear us say anything? So let them do what they want”.
