After a serious castigation of the outgoing Kailahun District Council Administration for funds misappropriated in one of the meetings held recently in Kailahun, by the deputy Minister of Health and Sanitation Sheku Tejan Koroma he revealed that his government has budgeted some Le 80billion for the development of the Kailahun District Council, on the precondition that they deliver the council to APC.
He said the ruling APC government has a special consideration for the people and community of Kailahun, because they suffered the brunt of the rebel war and besides Kailahun is not only strategically located but also rich in agricultural productivity.
He explained that the government deemed it necessary to allocate such a huge portfolio to that district because it is in dire need of development adding that such money should not go into the hands of irresponsible people like his nephew retired Col. Tom Nyuma whom he said has not got the capacity and ability to handle it judiciously for the general good of the district.
“If given the opportunity we will deliver the goods and if we fail stone us where ever you see us” he vowed.
Whether the construction of the Yeakidi hydro electricity power project is part of the Le80 billion was not made clear but he did say that government was now in dialogue with a Japanese company to finalize the construction of a dam towards the end of the year to service the entire district.
He maintained that they were aware of some of the white elephant projects executed by the SLPP dominated council and the recruitment of thugs by Partric Foyah to wreck havoc on any political opponent, but this time around he added the APC government would set a precedence by implementing projects to the letter and ensuring a violent free society.
He cited the Mano Sewalu feeder road from Kailahun through Dia Kissi Kama chiefdom via Koindu commercial centre for which Le 250 million and 1,000 bags of bulgur was approved few years back by Council in collaboration with GTZ but the road remained a death trap up to date. He ended up advising the people to cooperate with his government by voting in Solomon Musa as the new District Chairman
