The Kenema District Chairman of the ruling All Peoples Congress (APC) party Prince Kamara has told the press that his life is now in danger as he has been having constant disturbances at night by unknown people at his 4 Massaquoi street residence in Kenema.
Mr. Kamara explained that for three consecutive nights he and his family have been having sleepless night as he has been having unknown people visiting his compound between the hours of 2am to 4am attempting to enter his premises.
He said the first group of unidentified people went to his house last Friday around 2:30am and then opened one of the windows of the house where his children sleep, “they put their hand to take the bag that was in the room and one of the children shouted thief, thief, I had to intervene and questioned the intruders, they were outside for some time talking before they went off.”
He went on “They came the other night around 2am, this time they went to the main gate at the back of the house, they destroyed the gate and got an entrance into the compound, they got away with two pots one of them contained cooked beef and some hen and a cock that they met in the compound. On the third night they came direct to the main door and started priming it with their instrument. One of my children came to the parlour and alerted me. When I came out they were still talking to me while they tried to open the door. They were even knocking it with strong instrument from out side to damage it while we were inside pushing the door by using table and chair at the back of the door. I had to plead with them to go as they have given us sleepless night for the past nights but stayed at the veranda for up to 4: 15am. All of us sat at the parlour until daybreak. I have made the report to the police and the police visited the scene and took snap shots. Together with my family we are now in constant fear of our lives as any thing might happen, and up to now I cannot say whether they are thieves or something politically motivated” said Mr. Kamara.
He said “politics is now over and every body should be thinking about development not destruction”. He confirmed that the police have taken action by providing security for his premise every night for now until situation is normalised
