Contrary to an alleged accusation levied against Solomon Musa the APC aspirant for Kailahun District Council Chairman by the PMDC leader Charles Margai recently in Kailahun , with regard the pass port deal in which he was jailed in Hong Kong , he reacted that it was all a well organized ploy by Mr. Charles Margai the then Minister of  Internal Affairs to deprive him of the Inspector General of Police position.
Speaking to Awoko in Kailahun on the issue Mr. Musa said after he was given the full confidence of Mr Solomon Berewa the then Minister of Justice and Attorney General, that he was ear marked as the next IG after Mr Keith Biddle, Mr. Margai teamed up with some government officials to frustrate him, by requesting him to seek financial support for the party through the usual bilateral cooperation in Hong Kong. Even though he did not indicate the quantum of passports he went with to Hong Kong, he explained that the sale of Sierra Leonean passport in Hong Kong was not new, as it used to be the case from the old APC, NPRC onto the early days of the SLPP government .
He stated that the magnitude of corruption during Charles Margai’s tenure as Internal Affairs Minister was alarming.
“I have documents to prove that Margai awarded contract to his wife and closed friends in which every item was inflated” he confirmed.
He added that Margai is a ‘desperate man’ who has joined party A,B and C in order to grab power at all cost but to no avail.
He said the current APC government has plan to make Sierra Leone a corrupt free country by reconstituting the ACC with credible personnel who are not ready to condone corruption from any quarter irrespective of party affiliation.
“Unlike the other candidates, any programme I take to government will be approved because I was advised by the President to contest for the Chairmanship of the Kailahun District Council” he disclosed.
In an interview with the PMDC District Chairman with regards the candidacy of APC Solomon Musa for Kailahun District Council Chairmanship, he fully supported him on the grounds that the ruling government has confidence in him as compared to any other party aspirant and would even entrust him with huge funds towards the development of the district without hesitation.
He said any other position like the councillorship might be decided by Margai but the one regarding the chairmanship must be decided by the inhabitants of the district so as to develop their district.
He added that over the weekend he would travel to Kailahun to declare his support for the candidacy of Solomon Musa, and by so doing all his followers would toe the line.
Another PMDC Constituency Chairman in Kailahun  Lamin Jetty Ngobeh noted that the likable SLPP party in Kailahun had done nothing developmental for that district, but the APC party which they dislike had done a lot for Kailahun in the political past.
He pointed at the Central Market, the Government Hospital, the defunct electricity generation and the District Council as some of the legacies of APC in that district, adding that if given another chance they would develop the district.
