As the 5th Cup of African Nations for Amputee Football (CANAF) continue in Angola on Monday 7th October 2019 Sierra Leone Amputee National team lost to Nigeria by a goal to nil after they drew with the host Angola and defeated Cameroon by two goals to Nil. The Public Relations Officer of Sierra Leone Amputee team Albert Mustapha says the only goal scored was a scramble, after the goal the boys did everything possible but they were unable to level the score. He said the match against Cameroon their opponent conceded two early goals in the first half of the encounter and did not look like getting back to level terms through out the rest of the game. The game is the 3rd straight loss for the Amputee Lions; the first match day saw them swallow a resounding 6-1 defeat in the hands of hosts Angola, before a 2-1 defeat to Nigeria and most recently Sierra Leone. He revealed that because they arrived late the organizers are trying to see how they can be able to play against Tanzania as a match replay, instead of giving the three months to them. He said if all things go as planned they ae expecting the match to play on the 9th October which is the rest day.

He also stated that the competition will continue today Tuesday 8th October 2019 with Sierra Leone playing against Liberia and presently they have secured 4 points. Donald Williams said that presently 6 countries are taking part in the competition which include the host Angola, Uganda, Nigeria, Cameroon, Liberia and Sierra Leone and it is on a round robin basis with the first four countries qualifying to the semi final stage, with first position playing against fourth position while second playing against third.
