The first rural-urban movie by Paradise films- ‘Aminata’ will be premiered at the Miatta Conference auditorium tomorrow.
This is the third feature film by Paradise films which was established in 2004 by Sierra Leone entertainment Godfather- Jimmy B.
Aminata is a movie rich in Sierra Leonean traditional culture, which highlights the social-ills which contemporary Sierra Leone is faced with.
Paradise CEO who doubles as Producer and director, Jimmy B explained that the movie is about a ruthless leader of Roplon village- Chief Adikali Momoh III.
In this village only men are allowed to rule and girls do not go to school.
Chief Adikali Momoh III has 18 wives of which none of them have good fortune to bear the crown prince.
Aminata, the daughter of Pa Kelfala the village drunk- is a 15 year old ambitious girl who wants more to life than what the village can offer, but unfortunately for her; while lingering in her dreams she was kidnapped, raped and forced to marry the Chief, as fate could have it, Aminata eventually escapes from the misery and backwardness of Ropolon to the city in search of her dreams.
