The newly elected Chairman of the Kono District Council, John Yambasu has told his compatriots that his leadership is not there to witch hunt anyone, but seek development for the district.
Speaking recently to elected officers of both the District and Local Councils, he emphasized that he is ready to work with the former Chairman for the further development of the chiefdom while at the same time encouraged ex-councillors to come onboard and render the necessary assistance since they are in their transitional phase.
However, in the interim, Chairman Yambasu had put on hold all funding to projects until the new council takes a critical review of projects completed before any new allocation could be distributed for incoming projects.
In his contribution, the Chief Administrative Officer Tamba Allieu pledged total cooperation with the new chairman and team for the enhancement of the township.
Meanwhile, Councillor Aiah B.B. Komba has been elected as the deputy mayor of the Local Council defeating James A. Quee.
The election of Aiah Komba has thus paved the way for the formation of the various committees that would help in the running of the City Council.
However, it has been learnt that both the Chief Administrator and his deputy have been requested to reapply for their respective offices.
