Emmanuel Lavali was on Friday 21st August 2020 remanded at the Male Correctional Centre on Pademba Road after he made his first appearance before Magistrate Hannah Bonnie at the Freetown Magistrate Court No. 1 for the alleged violent robbery of Mariama Jalloh. According to the police, accused Emmanuel Lavali on Monday 17th August 2020 at Goderich Street, Freetown, robbed Mariama Jalloh of one Android Samsung mobile phone valued at Le2 million.
Sergeant Kadie Taylor prosecuted the matter, but Lavali was not represented by a lawyer in court. Sergeant Taylor disclosed that the victim and complainant, Mariama Jalloh, was absent, and could not make progress on the matter.
Magistrate Hannah Bonnie was left with no option but to adjourn the matter to the 28th August 2020 for further hearing, and sent Lavali into remand at the Male Correctional Centre on Pademba Road.
