Magistrate Hannah Bonnie on Wednesday 19th August 2020 remanded Allan G. Williams at the Male Correctional Center on Pademba Road after he allegedly robbed Mustapha Jangeh of property worth over Le32 million. Williams was arraigned before Magistrate Hannah Bonnie at the Freetown Magistrate Court No. 1 on Pademba Road. According to the police, Williams, on diverse days between Monday 13th and Thursday 16th July 2020 at Peninsula in Freetown, conspired with others to commit a robbery with aggravation.
Police said on Thursday 16th July 2020, the accused attacked Mustapha Jangeh and robbed him of items worth over Le32 million. Williams faced six counts of related charges of conspiracy contrary to law, robbery with aggravation contrary to Section 23(1a) of the Larceny Act of 1916, possession of arms contrary to Section 28(2) of the Larceny Act of 1916, wounding, among others.
Police prosecutor, Inspector I.G. Fofana disclosed that she is yet to hold a conference with the witness and victim and requested for an adjournment, which was granted. Magistrate Hannah Bonnie noted that the offence for which Williams stands charged is a very serious one, and remanded him at the Male Correctional Centre on Pademba Road.
She adjourned the matter to 26th August 2020 for further hearing.
