Police alleged that accused persons Ishmael Koroma, Issa Alhagi Mansaray, Ernest Numeh Conteh and Lamin Tarawally on Sunday 8th March 2020 at Kamagbemgeh Road in the Biriwa Chiefdom, Bombali District, North East Region, murdered Kadiatu Yeamie Kargbo. The accused faced two counts of conspiracy to murder and murder contrary to law. Prosecution witness Adama Sawaneh recalled on the day of the alleged incident, she was at her residence with the deceased when the first accused came to take her to a nearby village, where the first accused claimed they were going to settle a financial dispute over money given him to buy fish.
“Ever since they left for the village I have not seen them. Later, I heard Kargbo’s body was discovered at a nearby village in Kamabai, Makeni,” she said. In his cross-examination, first accused Koroma, who was not represented by a lawyer, argued that it was the deceased who’d asked him to take her to the village where she was found dead, denying any knowledge of her demise.
Magistrate Hannah Bonnie adjourned the matter to 17th August 2020. SKS/11/08/2020
