The Albert Academy will this Sunday celebrate its 105 years of existence. The celebrations will start with their Foundation day to be held on Sunday at 9.00a.m in the morning and in the afternoon, the thanksgiving service will be held at the King Memorial Methodist Church at Regent Road. The pre-celebration will start this Friday with a ceremony to honour long serving, principals, teachers, past presidents and other members who are over 70 years old. On Saturday, the Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held where the school’s welfare and finances will be discussed as well as election of a new executive.The Acting President of the Alumni Association Rev. Bunting A.S.V. Davies said the present president H.E. Jongopie Stevens is now out of the country on assignment and he has been holding the fort. He said he believes that they have had a successful term throughout the year. He disclosed that Bishop John Yambasu who is the new United Methodist Church Bishop will preach and they expect to crown him Honorary Student. The West African School Secondary Certificate Exams (WASSCE) which has just been released is said to be encouraging in the school and they are hoping that the Junior Secondary School (JSS) Exams too would be favourable.
