Motivated by the love of God and Christ to show love to others, Fiona Caramba-Coker of the Agape Ward Ministry USA over the weekend fed and donated to children of the El- Shaddai Children’s Ministry at Malama, Lumley.
While making the donations to the children, Fiona said the primary motivation is that of the love of Christ to give to the less fortunate as it is difficult for children without parents to cope, she decided to help those in the orphanage.
Maintaining that the act of giving to the children has to do with her spiritual conviction, as the children have to feel and experience the love of Christ. The children should have hope and know that all is not lost for them. It is in this regard that she wants to express the love of God.
She added that children are the next generation therefore there is every need for them to be catered and cared for by those who have the means to do so.
Fiona Caramba-Coker said it has always been her vision to help less fortunate children and has been looking for which specific children’s home to do so. “I was directed by God through the help of my aunty to this particular orphanage.”
The Agape Ward Ministry she said is one, which she uses the love of God to be able to heal and empower with the word of God.
The items which included books, school bags, staplers, binders, personalized bibles, pens, pencils, markers, working books and story books. She said these were mostly from her personal savings but some Sierra Leoneans and Non- Sierra Leoneans supported her in some ways.
Receiving the gifts on behalf of the Ministry and Children the Proprietress Mrs. Dorothea Thomas thanked Fiona for such gesture as she said the school items came in the right time.
Now that the children have received these school items this has saved the cost of buying such items for them and the money used for other purpose.
