Daddy SAJ has stated that, “I wished I was not a Sierra Leonean but a Ghanaian”, and disclaimed rumours that he was mercilessly beaten after being allegedly caught in electoral fraud.
Looking fresh without bruises or scars he said, “Sierra Leoneans don’t like their own people.”
He explained that he wished Sierra Leoneans had the same love Ghanaians had for their compatriots, but noted that unfortunately “[Sierra Leoneans] do not love each other.”
He maintained that the rumour was aimed at destroying his hard earn image, adding that whatever quarters it came from, and for whatever reason, they had not achieved their intension.
Daddy SAJ took solace and said, “I have not seen anybody in Sierra Leone who has risen to the top without people trying to drag him or her down”, adding that, “So if I’m now in the same situation, I can understand.”
Speaking about his association with business mogul and politician, Junior Navo, Daddy SAJ explained that his association with the politician had nothing to do with the propaganda, describing the politician as his “soul brother.”
He explained that, “Navo is one of the few people who made me what I am today.”
Daddy SAJ maintained that, “Sierra Leoneans have tried to destroy me over the years…Navo is my brother even before getting into politics”.
He stressed that he was not going to destroy his friendship because of politics, adding further that if that was the case let nobody go to his shows or buy his CDs again, as he was going to stick by his friend’s side. Daddy SAJ promised to take legal action against Radio Citizen and For di People newspaper for defaming him that he was beaten up for electoral fraud.
