Outgoing Minister of Energy and Water Resources Haja Afsatu Kabba has handed over to the incoming Minister Professor Ogunlade Robert Davidson at their Siaka Steven Street Office. In her opening statement, Haja Afsatu Kabba thanked President Koroma for repositioning her to the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources (MFMR) to continue fulfilling the President’s vision for this country.
She guided the new Minister to work by what the President has publicly pronounced including the contents of the All Peoples Congress (APC) Manifesto. Haja Afsatu Kabba also reminded him of the performance contract they have signed with the President and further briefed him on key strategic issues of the various sectors in the Ministry. Rounding off, the outgoing Minister also outlined the challenges she had faced and successes scored. In response, Professor Davidson thanked the Minister and her deputy, various heads of departments and chairmen of the Board of Directors of the Ministry for their diligent service to the Ministry. He assured the outgoing Minister of his determination to build on work that has been done. In a resolute tone he added that there was no room for failure as he was poised to deliver and win.
Professor Davidson appealed for team work in order to score the desired impact. The introduction of the new minister was done by the Permanent Secretary Abdul Rashid Bayoh.
