The project manager of a local Non Governmental Organization (NGO) – Action Plus Abu Bawoh has said that the issuing of micro credit and tools to farmers is helping them to improve their livelihoods.
Mr. Bawoh was speaking at the opening ceremony of a two-day training session for farmers at the Rural Training Institute (RTI) in Kenema.
He says they are mainly supporting women farmers and entrepreneurs to help them take care of their homes and to reduce poverty.
Ernest Maju Saffa who is the agricultural officer pointed out that the training is to help farmers with basic skills that will allow them use the right method of growing crops.
He disclosed that Action Plus is currently working in the four regions of the country where it is implementing the three main projects.
