On Monday 8th February 2021, Lamin Koroma was arraigned before Magistrate W. John of Magistrate Court No.1 at Ross Road in Freetown on malicious damage and larceny charges.
The police alleged that the accused, Lamin Koroma on Saturday, 20th June 2020 at Devil Hole village, Waterloo, maliciously damaged a Mercedes Benz truck with registration number APG 666 valued at Le120 million, property of Florence Conteh, contrary to Section 51 of the Malicious Damage Act 1861.
Also, the accused on the same date and place did steal from the damaged Mercedes Benz truck two batteries valued at Le2 million, property of the same Florence Conteh, contrary to Section 2 of the Larceny Act 1916.
Meanwhile, Inspector P.N.G. Daramy who is prosecuting the matter asked the court for a short adjourned date to call his witness to come and testify, which request Magistrate John granted.
Lawyer K. Kanu representing the accused did not object to the request made by the police prosecutor, while his client stood in the dock looking pensive as the Magistrate thought of the next adjourned date.
The case was adjourned to Tuesday 16th February 2021.
