On Monday, 8th February 2021, Alusine Jalloh pleaded guilty to two count charges of wounding and assault before Magistrate W. John of Magistrate Court No. 1 at Ross Road in Freetown.
In his submission to the court, police prosecutor ASP Georgestone tendered medical certificate and photos of the wounded and assaulted victim and other documents as evidence.
Meanwhile, the police said that on Monday, 1st February 2021 at Thompson Street, Kissy in the east of Freetown, the accused maliciously wounded and assaulted Bockarie Koroma contrary to Sections 20 and 47 of the Offences Against the Person Act of 1861. The assault caused Koroma actual bodily harm.
However, the accused was not represented by a lawyer in court. He looked shabby in a white T-shirt that must have turned crimson due to dirt. When the charges were put to him, he wasted no time to plead guilty to them and was later remanded to the Male Correctional Facility at Pademba Road.
The case was adjourned to Tuesday, 9th February 2021 for sentencing by Magistrate W. John. DT/09/02/2021
