It was a scene of panic on Wednesday morning when a 40 feet container belonging to a Preacher from Ghana flipped over at Sierra Leone State Lottery in State Avenue, Tower Hill, damaging other vehicles parked.
The container was among other eight containers coming from Ghana by road to Freetown to organise the healing Jesus Campaign crusade at the National Stadium. The container was loaded with books and other items.
According to one of the Ghanaian drivers, the accident was as a result of mechanical problem.
He reiterated that on their way coming they experienced mechanical problem which left them at the back of the convoy while their colleagues were at the front.
The driver stated that after resolving the fault of the vehicle, on their way to the National Stadium, they got lost and found themselves at State Avenue close to Sierra Leone State Lottery and the Vice President Office.
He furthered that, they requested help from Security Officers in Charge at the Vice President Office but they refused and instead they made a u-turn at the State Avenue.
Whilst making the u-turn to go up by Lotto Office, “the Vehicle went over the entrance of the Sierra Leone State Lottery and destroyed some vehicles that were parked underneath the office entrance”.
