The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) office underneath Kambui Hills situated along Reservation Road near the Magistrate Court in Kenema City was damaged by a tree on 15th February 2011.
The office of the Resident Minister East, the Provincial Administration Office, the Division of Forestry Office (DFO), the Across the River Trans-boundary Peace Park project office, the quarters of the High court Judge and the quarters of the government prosecutor are all in eminent danger as they are located near big trees underneath Kambui hills
Scores of residents in the city on Wednesday morning 16th February 2011 visited the ACC office to verify the damage done on the building over night which will run into millions of Leones.
Some portion of the land, from the ACC building into the forest was brushed and fire set on it, some of the big trees in the demarcated areas caught fire.
One of the big trees that caught fire fell on the building causing damage running into millions of Leones. More structures will be damaged if immediate action is not taken to salvage the situation.
Peter B. Kamara the Interim Manager ACC office told Awoko that he is not in a position to make any statement to the press concerning the incident as he is just taking over the office.
