Major Idriss Kamara of the Ministry of Defence is currently being detained by the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) alongside the Director of Defence Procurement, Joe Sewoh following allegations of seeking inducement from a contractor.
Sources at the Defence Ministry in collaboration with ACC disclosed that the two demanded from a contractor a percentage of the contract value in return for the award of the contract. The source further disclosed that when the contractor revealed his ordeal to the authorities, a joint operation between the two institutions was put in motion and they were monitored for two days and eventually nabbed. Both are in Police custody as the investigations continue.
