Bombay Stars lantern club has emerged the winner with a total of 690 points for the 2007 Lantern Parade followed by Magazine Lantern with 680 points, while the Clinetonians Lantern club came third with 670.
Bod Wata Lantern and Vimto Lantern clubs took fourth and fifth positions, respectively.
The result, which was compiled by a panel headed by Magistrate Adrian Fisher, agreed that first prize for ‘Ashobi’ was won my Bod Wata and Magazine Lantern clubs with 140 points each, while Kissy Central Lantern emerged second with 130 points. Bombay Stars Lantern took the third position with 120 points.
For singing and presentation, Bombay Stars emerged victorious with 150 points followed by Vimto Lantern club with 140 points.
Winners for the group A category included Clinetonians lantern club with 380 point for the first prize, Bomba Malaria lantern with the malaria sleeping net emerged 2 with 380 points,.
Winners for group B includes Bombay Stars won the first prize with 420 points while Vimto lantern club and Bod Wata clinched the second and third with 400 and 390 points respectively. For group C, Portee lantern club with 440 points won the first prize, as Magazine and Indigenous Lantern Clubs fought for the second and third prizes with 410 and 360 points respectively.
Special prizes were also dished out to lanterns portraying past leaders, and this went to Mighty Spears and Original Super Combo lanterns.
