A total of eight two (82) members have tendered their resignation to the secretariat of the PMDC Party claiming that the leadership of the party is undemocratic as it has failed to uphold the party’s Constitution thereby encouraging sectionalism, regionalism nepotism and tribalism and that the party is no longer with a national character.
The group which is headed by Festus Kpukumu alleged that the recent local election was marked with fraud as it was done on a level playing field for all contestants but that the whole process was stage managed in favour of a particular set of people.
They clamed that the present leadership situation of the party is marked by power thirst, selfishness, greed and lack of respect for the genuine and democratic views of others.
Festus Kpukumu also stated that the PMDC Secretariat has been transformed into a “dregman” center through which those who are opposed to transparency and accountability can seek job opportunity in the APC/PMDC alliance.
They further alleged that the leadership has lost major political bases and is no longer in the position to administer the party and they are not serious to win elections of any type.
Michael Fortune Publicity Secretary of the party said that most of the people that are now resigning from the party are supporters  of Dauda Tombo Bangura who lost to Charles Margai in the past delegates conference.
He alleged that Festus Kpukumu was also a contestant for the position of Regional Secretary General of the Party but lost the position and since then he has been misbehaving.
“As the PMDC is a party of discipline he was suspended and decided to resign from the party” the Publicity Secretary said.
On the allegation that the leader of the party is a dictator Michael Fortune said that people have a right to their opinion  and described  Charles Margai  as a very good leader who is working very hard to see that the party wins the leadership mantle of the country come 2012.
The Legal Adviser Robert Kowa described those who have resigned from the party as mere spoilers sent by other political parties to disrupt the PMDC.
Some of the members that have resigned from the party include Festus Kpukumu former Secretary Western Region, Ammadu Kabba former district Chairman East, Sheriff Koroma former district Chairman Waterloo Rural, Madam Janet Tot-Thomas – Former Women’s Leader Western Region, and Sahid Mohamed -former Treasurer, East District.
