Drama unfolded Tuesday at the Magistrate court No 1A when an aged white woman Christine Lange Gen Buschman from Germany was docked for drug trafficking at the Lungi International Airport.
Prosecution witness told the court on Tuesday that, the alleged cocaine trafficker was intercepted at the Lungi International Airport by security personnel at the airport during a normal luggage check before departure.
The alleged drug trafficker had two luggages and she was accompanied by another aged white man. When the accused opened the first bag nothing was found wanting inside it, but the other luggage had a covered note book which the airport security was suspicious about because it had a glued white substance at the front and back cover of the book he told the court.
He further disclosed to the court that the Airport security took the accused and the book that allegedly contained the white substance weighing 0.15kg in a brown envelope and handed them over to the Sierra Leone Police for further investigations.
Another Prosecution witness was also cross examined in court 7312 Sheka Mansaray also told the court that a forensic analyst proved that the alleged substance was cocaine and that a certificate was issued about the substance which was tendered in court as evidence A1-2
The defense counsel for the accused comprised of Melron Nicol Wilson and Kabba Koroma. Both lawyers cross examined the prosecution witnesses yesterday in court.
The matter was presided over by Magistrate Dean Tarawally and the case adjourned to the 20th June for further cross examination of prosecution witnesses by the defense council, however reports state that the accused cannot speak English
