Six young girls are currently serving six months imprisonment at the Pademba Road Prisons for loitering along Garrison Street in Freetown on Sunday.
Slamming the judgment on them yesterday at the Freetown Court No 3, Magistrate Bankole Shyllon said he was ready to put a stop to young boys and girls who were out in the streets.
He added that as young girls they should be thinking about something else rather than coming out in the streets at night.
Magistrate Shyllon disclosed that the sixth accused, Haja Abibatu Samura, had been convicted on similar crime and paid a fine of Le 30,000.
But this time, he said, he would not fine anybody indicted for loitering but would sentence them to prison with no alternative.
The six girls convicted are Ada Kamara, Marie Kamara, Adama Kamara, Doris Alieu, Mariama Morianah and Haja Abibatu Samura.
