About 58 secondary schools in Freetown both junior and senior categories will take part in this year’s inter-sec school competition which will start today at the National Stadium main bowl in Freetown.
One of the organizers of this year’s competition Sahid Conteh said that the competition is going to be one of the best organized as the Physical Education Teachers and the Principals of the various schools were invited to a meeting where they appealed to them that their pupils must be disciplined in and out of the stadium.
He also mentioned that any pupil that is going to repeat the WASCExams will not take part in the inter-sec sports meeting and they have made it clear to all the schools and any school who failed to go by that will have no body to blame for any action that will be taken against such schools.
Sahid Conteh also said that the deputy Minister of Education Youth and Sports Algassimu Jah who is in charge of sports will address the schools after the march pass before the competition starts.
He also mentioned that various events have been lined up for the three days competition which will end on Thursday.
During the first day about 13 events have been lined up with most of these events being for various school athletes to qualify for the next stage of the competition and he also expected that new records will be set during this year inter-sec athletics competition.
