Sending money from one point of Sierra Leone to the other has never been easy but with over
49 agent locations across the country, Western Union, Access Bank, Ecobank, Standard Chartered and First International Banks on Saturday launched the intra money transfer.
The launching started with a float parade from Calaba Town and ended at Lumley Beach.
Explaining the reasons for the intra money transfer, the Director of Marketing and Business Development of Union Trust Bank, Kobi Walker said Union Trust Bank joined hands with the other banks to introduce the intra money transfer within the country. He also said despite UTB having the biggest share where people could transfer money,
Mr. Walker said with the introduction of the intra money transfer, it will make it easier and efficient for people to send money to their loved ones. He stated that they thought of the idea after realizing the numerous constraints and danger people were involved in when sending money.
The marketing Director also said they were passionate and caring for their customers as their desire is to deliver efficient services to the people.
UTB’s money transfer is now operating from Mattru to Lungi and from Kambia to Zimmi, Kabala, Koindu, Kenema and Freetown.
