Second accused Peter Ellie has testified their criminal conspiracy to steal an okada rider’s bike after giving the rider a drug called ‘time bomb.’
The two accused persons, Yayah Sesay and Peter Ellie who were yesterday arraigned at the Magistrate Court No 1 on a two-count charge of stealing and receiving, where sentenced to four years and five months imprisonment by Magistrate Fisher.
The second accused explained that a friend of his, Prince, informed him that he had a mission for him.
He explained that on 9th January 2008 Prince hired an okada bike for Paddy’s nightclub for Le18, 000.
Peter Ellie explained that Prince went to a pharmacy and bought a drug which he called ‘time-bomb’. “I asked him what the drug was for, he said he would tell me latter,” he revealed.
The second accused explained that Prince then bought two drinks: one for him and the other for the okada rider but cautioned him not to drink the one meant for the okada rider.
Peter explained that when they got to Paddy’s he gave the okada rider the drink, adding that few minutes later Prince arrived and asked for the rider who was already asleep.
The accused further disclosed that the motorbike was sold to the first accused, but the first accused denied the allegation.
The accused persons agreed to pay for the bike which was valued at Le 4.5 million, but the accused were sentenced by Magistrate Fisher to four and five months imprisonment.
