An accused person Mohamed Amara of 2 Gbanguta street in Kenema City has made his last appearance before Presiding magistrate Kumba Kamanda in the Magistrate court in Kenema for the charges of larceny contrary to section 2 of the larceny Act of 1916.
According to the prosecution headed by Inspector Smart of the Kenema police division the accused Mohamed Amara on Wednesday 14th January 2009, is alleged to have stolen one victor motor bike valued at three million seven hundred and fifty thousand Leones (3,750.000.00.)
The motor bike was owned by one Fanta Sawaneh but was under the control of the rider Sayoh Kumateh who according to the prosecution, parked the bike among other motor bikes and went to watch a football match at capitol cinema hall at Hangha road in the city center.
The prosecution further revealed that the stolen bike was dismantled when found in the possession of one Ibrahim Foday who revealed that Mohamed Amara the accused sold the bike to him.
The magistrate court found him guilty of stealing a victor motor bike belonging to one Fanta Sawaneh that was in the custody of Sayo Kumateh the rider and he has been sentenced to four years imprisonment.
In the same Magistrate court another accused Fatmata Kamara of 6 Fenton road in Bo city made her first appearance before Magistrate Kumba Kamanda accused of unlawful possession of marijuana contrary to section 8 (9) of the national drug control Act of 2008.
According to the particulars of offence the police found the accused on Monday 23rd February 2009 at Bandama checkpoint on the Bo – Kenema highway in possession of ten kilograms of plants suspected to be marijuana. Fatmata pleaded not guilty and the case has been adjourned to 2nd March 2009
