Four Nigerians are now standing trial at the Freetown Magistrate Court No 3, charged with conspiracy to commit a felony contrary to law and unlawful possession of a substance believed to be cocaine.
Giving evidence in court ASP Samuel Kargbo said the first accused, Paul Uche a Nigerian of 91A Scandia Drive off Regent Road Lumley, Freetown, went to his office in a desperate mood to lodge a complain about the others who he confessed had in possession a large quantity of cocaine brought from Liberia.
Upon receiving the complaint, ASP Kargbo said, a search was conducted by police officers who found the said cocaine which was tendered as an exhibit in court.
The four accused persons Paul Uche, Basil Anayo, Elenwegbo, Cosmos Ogbondo and Alogbius Obidiegawa Chinedu are of the same address.
The lawyer for the defence, Fio Edward, applied for bail. It was granted to all the accused persons by Magistrate Bankole Shyllon in the sum of 100 million Leones, two sureties each in the sum of Le 50,000,000.
The case comes up again for hearing tomorrow.
