A mother Rosemarie Mansaray and her three children; Sarah, Abubakarr and Foday Fornah residents of 28C Congo Bridge were arraigned before Magistrate Bankole Shyllon to answer to one count charge of alleged domestic violence.
They all pleaded not guilty to the charge.
According to the charge it was alleged that on the 16th of August 2009 they physically abused Jestina Johnson of the same address.
Defense counsel J. E. Kebbie submitted an application for bail on the grounds that they will not jump bail or interfere with the court proceedings. He further stated that his clients have credible sureties to fulfill the bail conditions.
The Police prosecutor however asked that bail should not be granted to the accused persons as they will jump bail. He pleaded with the Magistrate to admonish both sides since they are residing in the same address to keep the peace.
Magistrate Bankole Shyllon granted bail in the sum of Le 2 million each. The matter was adjourned to 15th September 2009 for further hearing.
Also in the same court, a pregnant woman, Iye Kamara was arraigned before Magistrate Bankole Shyllon to answer to 6 count charges ranging from public assault and provocation, to abusive language and insulting conduct.
According to the particulars of offence, Iye Kamara on 24th August 2009 publicly assaulted Fatmata Koroma of the same address.
Defending counsel I. S. Koroma applied for bail citing that the accused is pregnant and could deliver at any time. He further stated that the accused would not jump bail and would be present at all time when the court calls for her. Bail was granted in the sum of Le 2 Million.
