Three Swimmers: Osman Kamara, Sahr James and Morris Beale have secured International ranking from the Governing Body FINA, during the FINA World championship in Istanbul, Turkey.
The Swimmers who competed against over 150 swimmers from 40 countries participated in 100 meters men freestyle and the 50 meters breast stroke.
In the 100 meters men freestyle, Osman Kamara clocked 1:07.84 seconds to finished in 141 positions out of the 160 swimmers whilst Morris Beale clocked 1:08.90 second to finish in 143 positions out 160 competitors and Sahr James ended with 1:16.99 seconds in 147 out of the same number of competitors.
In the 50 meters breast- stroke, Morris Beale ended with 37:48 seconds to finish in 99 position out of 111 competitors whilst Osman Kamara ended with 40:27 seconds finishing 100 out of 111.
According to National Coach Bobson Mansaray, this is the first time Sierra Leonean Swimmers have been ranked by the international body with such ranking. He expressed hope that t the sport will take a different turn in the country.
